fertilizing the grass hayfield

We had debated whether to fertilize the grass-hay patch.  We really get enough hay for our needs without fertilizer.  But the stand of grass was looking pretty sparse, and we don't want to lose it just because it lacks nutrients.

I realize this isn't an exciting entry.  But it's how we spent our morning!

Anything pertaining to farming interests me. I didn't know they furnished those trailers for you to use about fertilizing. Been a long time since I have done any farming LOL. I can see the white pellets coming out the back of the trailer thingy. Helen

We need to do some reseeding here. The floods last fall wiped out a lot of seeds.

Now you all just need some rain for that fertilizer.  I too need to put some fertilizer on my grass/yard.  I have this little hand held spreader...quite a difference for sure.  I was just thinking about when I'd do it and here you are with your  fertilizer entry, so I had to put that in.  It's a little warmer here today, but very windy, so I suppose I'd best not do it now.  'On Ya' - ma

Loved this entry.  This is similar to the procedure for hauling stone on our dump trucks.  Actually we only weigh in once per week so if we allow dirt to cake up in the dump body and then haul stone...we pay for dirt weight too which is not good.  Personally, I think it was a good decision to do the fertilization.  Better safe than sorry!

Not boring to me.  I never even thought about how hay got fertilized and now I've learned something new.  And, yes - I could see the little white thingies coming out on the last pic.
