horses are cheap

The reason I have my prize filly, Libby, is because horses are cheaper than they've been in years.  I look at the ads and I'm amazed.  My grandson goes to horse auctions often, and he says they're practically giving horses away.

Which makes me thankful that I have Libby, because she is a total prize.  But I worry, wondering what will happen to all these "cheap" horses.  Will traders buy them, hoping to make money on them later?  When supply exceeds demand, sometimes bad things happen.

I hope no bad things happen to all the young horses like my Libby.  Dear God, please help them find homes where they are loved and appreciated.

Of course, then I have to think about all the mongrel dogs that nobody wants.  Please Lord, remember them too, at this season when we all recall a stable and a special Baby born, surrounded by animals.

"The cattle are lowing, the poor Baby wakes,
But little Lord Jesus, no crying He makes...."

I worry about strays all the time. Worry about how people are treating their own animals also. We see a lot of nasty things on TV of how animals are treated. Makes my heart ache for them. Helen

Horses do not seem to be cheap here in Kentucky. All I see advertised are priced from 500 to 5000 dollars. You sure were lucky to find Libby at the price you paid. And she was also lucky you found her.

It seems that the good Lord has it all under control.  At least I like to think so !
Your little prayers will be heard.  Even though we often hear of the down side of things, there is much good that the news doesn't report and lots and lots of animal lovers are out there and doing wonderful things . 'On Ya' - ma

Yes Donna this is the time of year to remember ALL who have nothing. My thoughts almost constantly right now are with those climbers on Mt. Hood. Are they ok? What are they doing and thinking while I sit here and sip coffee in my warm home? It's just so tragic.

Happy Holidays,

If the horse slaughter law passes the prices will drop even lower.
