November sunrise

Picture taken during our morning walk.

We haven't seen a lot of evidence of deer on our place this year, but this morning, tracks were everywhere.  And on the way back to the house, we saw a deer heading west, right behind our barn.  Deer season starts next weekend... maybe they have some premonition that tells them they'd better get active.

  1. Great picture. Bet that was a cold walk this morning. We had a temp of 30º here. Beautiful sunshine though. Helen

  2. Oh how pretty. I like sunrise and sunset pics. :D Since they changed some stuff on the journals I can see pics in the alerts.  I have a bunch of sunset and sunrise pics of our street. :) I like sun & fog(together) pictures too.

  4. The sun came up here this morning too !  It's not very bright , but it is out there.  It seems to be hanging very low in the south right now. I haven't seen any deer on my way to work either, usually I do.  Thanks for the warning, I'll be looking out for them now.  'On Ya' - ma

  5. Saw this on the homestead sight. Do you have hunters around your place? Maybe you need to put orange vests on the horses especially the filly. She could be mistaken (I don't understand how) for a deer. I read that horses are shot by what must be BAD eyesighted hunters.

  9. Hello~
Absolutely stunning picture! It makes us wish we were already in Missouri.....right now this minute..LOL.
I bet you get the Cardinals around your property in the winter too don't you? I my in-laws do and they even have some on video, eating out of the bird feeders. Stunning birds.

    Have a great Saturday,

  10. My father always has a theory about why the deer population is or isn't massive.  Damned if I know what he's talking about.  Nice photo.  I think I've seen a sunrise once or twice.

  11. You've just managed to make me homesick for the Missouri Ozarks! Lovely picture. Oh, well - there's plenty of wildlife right here in the hinterlands of Texas. I'm not talking about the deer, I'm talking about the people.....(should I add an LOL here??).             Jon

  12.     I'm sure that the deer "remember" hunting season from one year to the next ... but, more important, this is their mating season.  They aren't following their usual feeding/resting patterns.
YOUR PHOTO ... it looks just like the same sunset as I just posted on my journal: http://journals.aol.com/lowis6535/UpperPeninsulaMIandbeyond/
