the last of the Old Thresher Reunion pictures

In picture number 7, look at the wringer washing machine in front and to the right of the refrigerator:  I was still using one of those in the early 70's.  By choice!  Sometime around 1980, I was going to try and go back to using one of those, but by then I was too liberated, and all that work just wasn't worth it any more.

I got a call from Rachel, and she still hasn't seen Kevin; the nurse said they are having a problem controlling his pain just now, so a few more prayers wouldn't hurt.

I want one of those rocking chairs!  :)

Poor Kevin....poor Rachel...  :-/  Being in pain sucks....  If they sold morphine as an OTC, I'd be all over that.... let her know I'm thinking of her....

My Grandmother on my father's side had one of those wringer wahing machines and used it as we were growing up.  She had a farm in Lousiana and I loved to stay there as a child.  She had the old fashion churns and my sister and I would churn the cream from her milking into real butter.  What an education we recieved from her.  Great PICS!  Wish I could have been there for this one!

Hoping all is well with Kevin... Everyone handles pain differently, and not all the drugs work the same on each person! I hope they find the right combo for him quickly!

My grandmother had one of those ringer washing machines during most of my childhood. My grandfather would move it onto the back porch (which was windowed in) and she would wash the clothes, then hang them out. I used to love to put the clothes in the wringer, but it always scared her I would get my hands caught!

That old car with the camper was probably great in it's day. Looks more like a covered wagon without the horses pulling it. LOL. I used to have one of those old wringer washing machines. Those were a lot more modern than the old scrub board and batting sticks the grandparents used to have to use. I remember them having a fridge like that. My dad's parents had a syrup mill and I remember the green juice very well. Prayers going up for Kevin. One of my cousins had that kind of surgery a few months back and he had a rough time of it. Have a good day! Helen
