I LOVE Lucy

The "I Love Lucy" series began five years before my parents ever bought a television.  I was married with my first baby before I started seeing some of those shows, as reruns, for the first time.

I don't imagine the younger generation can relate to Lucy, but she lived in the world in which I grew up.  Back when men "laid down the law" and the women figured out ways to get around that stupidity.

Tonight I couldn't find a single thing to watch on TV until I flipped channels and found "I Love Lucy".  By now I'm so familiar with all the shows, I can multi-task, talk on the phone, surf the Internet, and still know exactly what's going on, with any episode.

I will go to my grave loving Lucy.

  5. I do that with Little house on the Prairie...I love that show.  My daughter LOVES I love lucy and at the age of 18 has watched a lot of the reruns.  I think it's weird that she loves them because they are so old.

  7. Gotta love Lucy!  We just all watched an episode after dinner the other night.  One of my favorite movies is "The Long, long Trailer"  have you seen that one?  They are both in it and it is sooooooooooooo funny!

  9. I used to love that show but I never see it any more. Of course I don't watch much TV as I have a channel surfing Hubby. I could watch more here where the computer is but then I am on the computer when I am in this room LOL. Helen

  11. LUCY ... thank Heavens for re-runs!  It is like a time capsule of an era.  Sometimes you just want to watch something light & happy; THAT'S LUCY.
YOUR KNEE:  for two & a half years, I suffered excruciating pain. When I awoke from the anesthesia after my total knee replacement, THE PAIN WAS GONE!  Recuperation wasn't much of a problem.

  12. I am glad you enjoy it - but I just can not get into watching anything more than once, or at the most, twice. I did go see Batman twice, lol!

  13. I will go to my grave loving Lucy too!  She has been my favorite since I started watching her when I was 5 years old.  I do believe she came out around 51 or so.  I was born in 53.  I watched her as a kid, a teen, a young adult, and now as an old biddy! lol  I can probably recite their scripts verbatim, that's how many times I watched their shows!  Remember "The Long Long Trailer?"  Now that was a feel good, fun movie!!

  14. I'm a bit younger than you, but I love Lucy, too.  I have memories of my mom taking a break from her housework to watch a Lucy rerun, and now my daughter enjoys them with me.

  15. We always watched "I Love Lucy" and loved it. My favorite was when a train was going by and the vibration was moving her bed. lol Doesn't seem to be any of the good ole' comedies anymore. Hope you are doing well, Paula
