secretwatermelon2
I slipped my watermelon rind under the fence and Secret ate until all the red part was gone!  Notice how her horns are coming along?

Cows liking watermelons is about the same as raccoons liking marshmallows.  Who knew?

  5. Oh shoot a nice cool sweet treat for anyone is watermelon...my chickens will just about kill each other for some watermelon, and the pigs, well that goes without saying they will make short work of it. She is looking so beautiful. Don't know if the horse will eat it, will yours? I found out he doesnt like strawberries, so I don't know if he would like watermelon either.

  7. No Robin, it doesn't hurt as far as I know.  Of course, how would I know?  LOL.  Cows don't complain when they're in pain.

  8. I did not know to this day a cow would eat a watermelon!  And I used to live with cows.  The photo proves it.  Ha.  Gerry  http://journals.aol.com/gehi6/daughters-of-the-shadow-men/

  9. I use to ride a horse that was VERY hard to catch. One of the ways in the summer was to tempt him with watermelon.  It worked everytime.

  18. Hi - My daughter lives on 5 acres and she grew vegetables and had hornses but hasnt had cows in a long time. They are getting ready to move to Colorado. My hubby is from Missouri and when we visited his parents we always had an awesome time. Since then they have moved to Florida and now she is not so good. She is dying. Cancer. Just one little spot on her lung a year ago - and they got it and removed it. Then she started having problems and it's been downhill ever since. Please pray for her. I enjoy your pictures. Stop by my journal anytime. If you'd like I would like to add you to my favorite places to go to or favorite journals rather. Im somewhat a newbie. 22. Wow.  You post  a picture or two of a dumb cow, and get all these comments?  People are bored, huh?  LOL just kidding.  She's a doll and we all know it.  Now, answer the question about the name! I would, but many commenters don't read comments.  Curious, no?

  23. I be darned if them Jersey eyes didn't get me into a whole lot of trouble. Big brown eyes, butterfly eyelashes; yup, that combination ain’t been nothin but trouble for near 1/2 century. That's what that delightful comparison cost me. My Freedom. };^D

  24. That is too cute!!!!!!!!!!!  I want to pet that cow!!  Adorable!!  I had a cow when I was a little girl when my parents were still married.... back then we lived on a big farm with my grandparents too.  My cow was named Daisy and I had a chicken named ShaShaBelle.  She always laid brown eggs.
