If your spouse has heart issues, you just worry

Cliff mentioned being light-headed a couple of days ago as we were taking our morning walk.

Today he said, "Well, I guess I'm going to have to go to the doctor."

"You're still dizzy?"

"Not dizzy, just light-headed.  But once in awhile I wonder if I should sit down.  It's like I'm not in control."

I called the doctor's office; the nurse there asked Cliff some questions on the phone, and an appointment was made for Monday morning.

I've googled until I'm dizzy.  Could be heart problems, could be inner ear.  We've taken his blood pressure several times, but it's right where it ought to be, not too low... not high.

He hasn't had arrhythmia or chest pain.

I think Cliff has pushed his luck with the heat lately.  That's what I think.  He works in 100-degree temperatures on his job.  He goes out weed-eating in the pasture in full sun, with temperatures in the 90's.  But what do I know?

I'll let you know Monday, if we find out anything.

  2. Yeah, sounds like heat.  My husband is on the couch after a really rough week of 100 degree heat.  Hope all goes well and Cliff takes it easy.

  3. I agree, too much heat.  Everyone needs to slow down a bit in the  heat.  We really can't do as much , it will wait.  'On Ya' - ma

  4. Well I have vertigo so I am always dealing with dizzy spells.  I think if you can get him to tell you when he feels dizzy it will make it easier to diagnois...like is it when he stands from a sitting position, when he lays down, or is it all the time.  Is he drinking enough water?  Check his pupils and see if they are the same size.  And by all means MAKE him take it easy until Monday.  My Dad is a lot like Cliff and they don't realize they just cant work in this heat like they could when they were young bucks.  Keep us posted.

  8. I sure hope they find out exactally what is wrong with Cliff. Vertigo can certainly make you feel like that but he should take it easier in this heat. It's been in the 100's everyday here this week.

  10. I hope everything turns out to be alright and it is just this heat. I can believe that could very well be what it is, especially if he is not taking in enough fluids. It has just been brutal hot and will just drain you in no time. Hope he gets to feeling better.

  12. Sounds like you are right, it is either an inner ear problem, or more likely a heat thing. Always good to check it out.
