This blog is winding down....

Anne, of Saturday's child, said it so well that I'm not even going to try and improve on it.  So go read her "last post" on AOL HERE, if you haven't already.

My favorite quote from that entry:  "it's much easier to talk about life to strangers who become friends than to lots of friends who are really strangers.  Ordinary people live extraordinary lives."

I've found this to be true about all the folks I've met on AOL, from the early days of the Christian chat rooms right down to the present day, of J-land and Blogspot.

I've already found most of my favorite J-landers in their new digs at Blogspot, and even re-discovered some that I had somehow lost track of.  So this move really isn't so sad after all.  Now if AOL really figures out a way to seamlessly move these old journals to Blogspot, I won't have a single regret about the move.

Oh, you'll find me blogging HERE from now on.

I agree with what you are saying Donna, I have really enjoyed reading about you and Cliff and your familie's lives and what you have been doing. Yours has been one of my favorite journals. Hugs to you my friend. Helen

I'll try to be brave & not worry about the big task of backing up four years of blogs under several screen names ... PLUS transferring them!
Now, what do I do with my scores of web-pages?

I'm still waiting to see how the transfer goes.  I'm really challenged when it comes to anything other that the 'ON' switch....

Amen Donna and Anne and all the rest of you fine folks here on AOL-J.  I too have often found more support and understanding here than I have with my strange friends right here in real time.

I will never forget J-land and all of my friends here.  My only regret is that we will lose a few along the way ... but the choice is their own to come along or not.

Where did I see your tag before?  And can I get one?

I'm so sorry it took me so long to stop by and say Hello! HELLOOOOO! Your journal looks so great! I'm so jealous that you were able to migrate your AOL entries over to Blogger with no problems. Mine was a disaster. Do you think I could get any help from anybody at AOL??NOOOOOOOOO! I just love how they went on and on to offer, especially the guy (Vish) at Magic Smoke who did nada to help me, and I gave him plenty of notice. So, what happened is I now have 2 journals: one for Blogger and one for AOL. At least I have all 500 entries from 5 years of writing on AOL and all of my 2,320 comments..LOL I'm thankful for that. Guido has taking over Magic Smoke (God Bless him!)and maybe he can help.
Have a great Sunday and a belated Happy Halloween!

Huggers,
Gayla

PS: You are right, Missouri IS God's country!!! :))

My 1st visit, just took a tour of your new place here in Blogtown, very comfy place! Nice country feel to it. Left a few comments, hope you agree to dialogue on that particular topic I'd love to hear more. And I agree, JLand was a more user-friendly open place. Haven't the slightest idea what prompted them to abandon us Journalers (blog is such a foul word lol) but AOL's loss is blogtown's gain. What a world lol.

Hi Donna,
I invite you to visit my Christian based Blog too: TOM'S JOURNAL. I am a serious student of the Bible and a Soldier of Christ--Disabled Vietnam Veteran: 68-70. My wife, Sharon, is always sick from COPD, heart problems, but we have a great dog to entertain us.
