I found myself taking pictures of old barns on our motorcycle travels last weekend, just because I love them. Some of the pictures are askew: when you're going around a curve at seventy miles per hour, it's hard to keep a camera level.
Something I noticed when Rena and I made the trip north for her divorce was that from northern Iowa on into Wisconsin, hundreds of old barns are well-kept and in use. Here in Missouri, the few old barns that remain are in some stage of decay. But there's a beauty to be found, even in the decrepitude.
I wish I'd taken pictures of the lovely barns up north, but it didn't occur to me at the time.

Yes, most around here are kept up and in use. It's amazing how well they have weathered over the years. Great pictures !

You got some good pictures. That was a good hobby to help pass the time, watching out for old barns. You did good. Helen
WOW! Some of those pictures made my heart skip a beat. They are breathtaking and make me long to travel the roads and see the sights you do. I didn't see a single picture that was askew. I especially like the one with the roof peaking out from behind the vegetation.
I love old barn pictures and abandoned old farm houses too. I always wonder what the "life stories" are left there !
I've always liked old barns, especially the ones that are falling apart. When I drive around the county where I'm originally from, it saddens me to see some of those old barns gone now. I enjoyed your pictures!

Enjoyed the pictures of all the barns. I too, love to see them all, the older ones have so much character dont they. I am impressed with your picture taking seeing as you were riding along on a motorcycle! :) Kelly
Those barns look to be in better shape than most of the ones around here, but I don't live in farm country. Perhaps if I went out a bit farther, I might see some "healthier" looking ones! Nice job, considering you were on the back of a bike!
