This one, near Coffey, Missouri, is somewhat unusual. Looks like someone has put a roof on it recently. Maybe they'll paint it soon.
Somebody loves this one, too.

So do I! I checked out a book from the library a while back that was about barn restoration and it had a lot of pics. You'd probably like that one. I can't remember the name of it. I know it had restoration in the title. lol
I love them too. I so remember playing in the hay loft at my Grandparents farm. I also remember the first time I tried to milk a cow. Thanks for the memories today. In Ohio several of our old barns have been painted with one of the Ohio Anniversary dates on it. Lots of people will collect pictures of the Ohio barns too. Lots of barn lovers out there. My grand parents barn is still standing but not their house. Some cousins have taken over the use of it. I don't think it has been painted though in many many years. 'On Ya' - ma
I love old barns, too! That's something we don't have much of here in the desert. But, when I drive through the countryside and am able to catch glimpses of them.. they always stir my heart. Can't explain it.. but they do.
Beautiful barn. We don't see too many of those here. Guess because we don't have much cold weather. Some farmers just have large sheds to stack hay under and some it left out until used. Paula
I HAVE ALWAYS LOVED BARNS.LOVED GOING INTO THEM TOO...WE AHD ONE OUT ON HORSESHOE BEND AND I LOVED IT!!! SEEMS LIKE IT WAS ALWAYS COOL IN THERE. LOVE YA, CARLENE
Oh I always love seeing barns...and around here we have...tobacco barns which are black....horse barns which are so elaborate...better than some homes I have been in LOL...always painted the colors of the farm....and then just plain old barns...some leaners....some hay covers...and some for just enjoying to look at LOL..God Bless...hugs...Ora
It has long been my desire to have pictures of the old barns that are dissapearing so rapidly. I'd love to frame the prints and make a collection of them. WHO HAS THE TIME ? ? ? ?
I kept a journal on AOL for over four years. AOL decided to get rid of journals, so I transferred my memories from there to Blogspot. I don't intend to add to this site, except perhaps to add some pictures that were lost in the transfer; I'm keeping it for the memories: memories of babysitting my granddaughters; of my long-gone dog, Mandy; of nights spent at the cabin; of vacations and motorcycles bought and sold.
Thanks, Blogspot, for helping me save my memories.
I was born in 1944. My husband and I are retired, living in a mobile home, and loving life every day with our oldest grandson living in our old house next door to lend us a helping hand if we need it.

Oops. I was wrong for once in my life. The book is called Barn: Preservation and Adaptation, The Evolution of a Vernacular Icon.
Those are beautiful. The old barns around here are unpainted. Helen
I love the old farm pictures.
