my blood pressure numbers have dropped

Most of my life, my blood pressure numbers have been on the very low side.  I believe this must be hereditary, since Daddy's BP was low until he was in his 60's, and my daughter's runs low too.

However, in the last five or six years, my numbers have been creeping up.  Oh, not enough to worry my doctor, but often the top number was over 140; sometimes near 150.  I know this happens as we age, so I wasn't really concerned.  I'd just keep checking once a week or so, when Cliff checked his.  I figured if it got too high, I'd have to go on pills of some kind.

(On a side note, Cliff's meds keep his blood pressure steady as a rock; it's always around 125/70.)

Here's the funny thing:  Since we've moved, my top number has been consistently around 125.  I'm wondering if this is just a fluke, or if I'm that much more satisfied and relaxed, living back here with a view of the pasture.  I'll let you know if those numbers change.

That's a theory you can probably bank on.  Less stress (daily, neighbors or otherwise) lower numbers.  The move has done you good!

I think you are most likely more content with your new home.  I know you have wanted that view for some time and it does put peace in ones heart.

I'm glad your BP is stable.  My Dr. Lovely has me stabilized in the high teens now.  She likes it there so that makes me happy.

Love you,

Joanna

I bet it is because you're happier where you are.  You've got AIR & a DISHWASHER!!!  LOL

Another benefit for being happy.  That move was perfect for you and Cliff...and Rena and Angel too!  Vicki

I believe your surroundings can definitely affect your BP. I am on BP meds, but mine was still somewhat high until we moved here, now I still take the meds and most of the time it is reasonable. Ian and I noticed something when we started reading the local paper here...in the obituaries. People here live a lot longer in this area. Most folks live to be in their 80s and 90s. I hope we are so fortunate. :) Kelly

It probably helped when you quit killing roosters.

I think it's your new house.  On every vacation I have this moment where I let out a sigh and all tension seems to leave my body...usually right smack in the middle of a trip while John and the kids are off at the water park and I'm soaking in a nice hot jacuzzi bubble bath all alone. I bet you've been feeling that way every day. My blood pressure would be nice and low too.

My father always had low BP all his life.
I hope your numbers continue to do well, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if they're so low because you're so happy in your new home.

I just knew that what I need is a view of a pasture instead of another house.  You are blessed.
