young folks

The grandson who lives here has a cell phone that rings, or makes strange noises, frequently.  The musical "beep beep beep" that indicates text messaging is a sound to which I've grown accustomed.  His ringtone, a song about "living in a small town", is something I've almost memorized.

Tonight he and I watched a couple of CSI episodes and a "Law and Order SVU", sharing some popcorn  (I have 50 pounds of popcorn, so there's plenty to share).

Bored with television, I handed him the remote and came to my computer in the kitchen.  His phone rang (or should I say "sang") and I heard him start talking to someone.  Imagine my shock when he said, "I'm eating supper."

This got my attention, since our popcorn was long gone.

Then he said, "Well, you should have told me sooner; it's too late now, I'm eating."

And after a pause, "I'm at Grandma's."

Once he ended the call, he told me, "Just in case you're wondering, I'm eating supper."

"Making up excuses, are we?"

"Ah, these women are driving me crazy."

OK, whatever.

Not that I'm fond of stretcccccching the truth but I think he is a wise young man.  It's much better to be eating popcorn with Grandma than off with a "woman", especially one that is driving him crazy.

LOL so nice that he has some girlfriends to choose from him.  Tell him to find the one who will cook and sew and can food and make things and go to church and be loyal to his heart, from a dear friend named Lisa in KY who has made mistakes before.  Hugs,
Lisa

Those cell phones are very musical.  I'm always amazed at some of the sounds that come out of them.  I bet he was glad to have an excuse from the sounds of things.  'On Ya' - ma

My kids do that sort of thing ALL the time! lol  So funny.  And we had, at one time FOUR cell phones going off around here like that.  My daughters was the most of it and once she moved out it was a lot quieter! lol  Aren't they annoying sometimes!?  We have a friend coming over for the weekend and he can't stand those beeps and says "WHAT IS THAT BEEPING"!  lol  Sometimes we call each other so that they beep just to annoy him! lol Nice friends right?
