Help me decide!

There's a reunion of Internet friends, some of whom I've chatted with since 1998, being held in Dallas in April.  They've been having these gatherings for at least eight years; I've attended three of them, I believe.

This year will be the last one ever, which makes me think I should go; I'll never see any of these old buddies again if I don't.

I can get a round trip ticket for $124, so the price isn't that high.  Although when you add the cost of a hotel room for two or three nights, it gets fairly pricey.  We have the money, no problems there.  But perhaps it would be better put to use doing something Cliff could enjoy with me.

Most of the people going to the reunion will arrive on Thursday before noon and leave, I suppose, some time Sunday afternoon.

I don't want to spend that much time away from Cliff, making him babysit my wacko dog.  So if I went, I'd want to go on Friday.

This means the lady in charge of this undertaking, Frankye, would have to leave everyone else and make a special trip to DFW airport to pick me up, unless I figure out how to avail myself of the shuttle to the hotel.  I believe the shuttle is $20 one way, so it isn't prohibitively expensive.

And there's the fact that I just blew a bundle going to visit my sister.  How selfish is it of me to go flying around the country, leaving Cliff to fend for himself?  By the way, he has absolutely NO desire to go along.

So you, my readers, can help me make up my mind.

As a bonus, you have the option of voting for me to shoot myself.  Jerry, here's your chance!

I voted to go to the reunion and ask about a shuttle.

You only regret the things you don't do.  Cliff is a big boy.  Cliff loves Sadie.  But more important than anything, it is a decision only you can make. If it helps on any level, I never would see you going on a mini vacation with your friends as a selfish thing.  Actually, I would see it as a self loving thing both for you and your friends.  JMHO

Go and enjoy yourself, you only live once.  Cliff is a big boy and can take care of himself!  Linda

Go & enjoy.  Especially since it will be the last one. You'll probably regret it if you don't.

Good LORD, mother!  Think about it.  You can miss a flight and ENTIRELY screw up your travel plans, yet still come out smelling like a rose.  I'm pretty sure you can (go to the nearest courtesy phone and call for the above mentioned hotel) find a way to make the shuttle work for you.  LOL  Was that hint too obvious?

I voted and, as of yet, no one has voted for you to shoot yourself, LOL.  I think you should go if this is going to be the last chance to see these folks.  I have great faith that you can find the shuttle.

Well, at least no one has yet voted for you to shoot yourself!  Stay home ... go away with Cliff on a wonderful motorycle trip.  This may be the last reunion, but we aren't surrendering our computers are we?

I voted you spend the money for a motorcycle road trip. Both of you come out a winner that way. If you take a couple of days, we would take care of Sadie if need be.

I voted as if it were me.  I couldn't give up motorcycle time with my sweetie!

Pop's and you can ride over and over agin.  If, this is the last on, go for it.  Besides, the grandson is there to help out, just leave him written notes.  Have fun!

I think you should go and use the shuttle. I've done that before and it's so easy and nobody is inconvenienced. You can even reserve it ahead of time. Find out which shuttle service is in Dallas and go from there.
Good luck!

I voted for option 3, but you don't have to ask anyone at the airport. Call the hotel in Dallas and they will tell you EXACTLY where to go to catch the shuttle.
