I don't remember them, and I am glad I don't - tapeworms and the Lysol use - ick! I am kind of surprised that tapeworms haven't made a comeback, since it's a way to lose weight that doesn't require effort on the patient's part.
OMG! I have never seen these ads! Tapeworms for weight loss? Lard for happiness? Doctors promoting cigarettes? Lysol for douching? EW! I guess we have come a long way in medicine and health huh. This is crazy stuff! Have to send this over to Mama and Daddy and see if they remember any of this.
Oh my! That last one about Lysol had me laughing! They are happy because they eat lard! More Doctors smoke Camels? I remember when I was little and would go places with my Mom who smoked while we were in the grocery store, the waiting room at the doctor's, in department stores! Boy how times have changed.
LYSOL? For douching? OMG! OWWWWWWWW! lol I can't even begin to imagine! lol
That cigar thing...reminded me of the commerical "Cigar? Cigarette? Tiperello?" I think that's how it's spelled. Times have sure changed. The doctor recommended cigarette ad is hilarious! I remember when you could smoke in your hospital room. Can't even imagine it now! These were fun, Donna! Where in the world did you find them?
Thank God we've come a LONG way baby! I remember when douching was considered part of hygiene, and smoking was cool. I'm considering having a tape worm implanted, but reconsidered. These made me laugh. Thanks MO. BTW, I had a good friend (like a second mother) pass away on Monday also. Anne
I kept a journal on AOL for over four years. AOL decided to get rid of journals, so I transferred my memories from there to Blogspot. I don't intend to add to this site, except perhaps to add some pictures that were lost in the transfer; I'm keeping it for the memories: memories of babysitting my granddaughters; of my long-gone dog, Mandy; of nights spent at the cabin; of vacations and motorcycles bought and sold.
Thanks, Blogspot, for helping me save my memories.
I was born in 1944. My husband and I are retired, living in a mobile home, and loving life every day with our oldest grandson living in our old house next door to lend us a helping hand if we need it.

OMG its a surprise that people survived back then. Lard, Lysol, tapeworms. Amazing!
Lysol for feminine hygeine?! yikes..LOL
I guess since tamales are primarily made with lard, I can say I'm happy because I eat lard, too. LOL
