I've been watching movies

It's that time of year, you know.  That time when the weather is lousy and nothing outside is worth wading in mud or freezing to death for.  So I, who normally watch very few movies, am watching movies.

I wish I'd have skipped the one yesterday about a girl from Columbia smuggling drugs into the United States; it was totally depressing.

Two movies I've caught on TV recently were so similar that while I was watching the second one, I thought I was watching the one I'd already seen, there for awhile.  And yet, they're both excellent portrayals of a man I used to enjoy greatly, on late-night TV.  Hard to believe two such similar movies were made within a year of one another.

The movies?  Capote and Infamous.

Just look at these guys; they both look like Capote, and what's more, they each get his personality and mannerisms down to a "T".

That's Phillip Seymour Hoffman

And that's Toby Jones.

Oh, here's the real Capote:

If I had to choose between the two movies, I think I enjoyed "Infamous" just a little more, but maybe that's simply because I saw it first, or perhaps because I liked Sandra Bullock's portrayal of Harper Lee best.

There you have it:  My cabin-fevered movie reviews.

Havent seen those, just watched The Contract, that was pretty good. Got the new Die Hard sitting on the table, maybe this weekend I will watch that. Yep, the weather is sucky for sure now. Definitely movie or book weather.

Since CY broke his collar bone in November, we have seen a LOT of tv movies....Like you said they all fell out of the same popcorn box.  A true waste of time except that we get to share some down time which is not often the case.  I watch mostly for the furniture, clothes, hair styles.....you get the picture.  The plots are all practically the same.  I don't care for violence or sex and certainly not bad language so I'm just out of luck.  These things remind me of track housing.......seen one/ seen them all.

You know I haven't seen either, and I was really wanting to see the one with Hoffman.  Now I'll have to watch both!

You have me intrigued.  I've never seen these movies but sure would like to!!  Glad you are staying warm in the cabin and having some great movie time.  Brrrrrrr it's cold outside here too.  Hugs,

I haven't seen either movie yet but I'll definitely eventually get around to it. Capote was indeed a real character - it's hard to believe that such a cotton candy wimp could write such powerful books. You're right - the two actors bear a striking resemblance....         Jon

I watched both of these movies earlier this year.  I saw Capote first and then Infamous second.  I thiink I enjoyed Infamous better.  Sandra bullocks prtrayal of Haper Lee was fantastic. It also gave a more in depth explanation of how Capote came to "fit in" with the community.  Who knew he was a great arm wressler?  Anne
