Good old Ebay usually comes through

Sadie and I were hanging out in the kitchen last night when we heard a crash from the other room that made us both jump and run to see what had happened.

See the empty space at the top?  Flylady has me in the living room this week, and when I'm in that zone (once a month) I have to wash all my knick-knacks.  Evidently when I washed my four Avon "life-of-Jesus" plates, I must have bumped the hanger on it and left it crooked, because alas, my favorite plate of the four fell and broke.

There was one, and only one, on Ebay today for $6.99.  I think the shipping came to about $8.  Altogether, I'm sure that's still less that I paid for it new, many years ago.

I also used to buy Avon's Christmas plates each year from an Avon salesperson, until I found out you can get them on Ebay much cheaper, even with shipping charges added on.

I've stopped buying them, since we lowered the kitchen ceiling so that my space above the cabinets isn't big enough for the plates to hang.  If I ever decide to get the ones I'm missing, there are always plenty of them on Ebay, a plate from any year.

Wonderful Ebay!

You have reminded me that I've not got back to the Fly Lady yet this year.  I don't think I'll sign up but you can go to the site and get the info for the week.  Now I'm behind already, but maybe I can catch up on the weekend. Sorry about your plate, but thank you for the reminder.  'On Ya' - ma

So glad you were able to fine another one. It would have up set me greatly for something like that to happen. I had a shelve fall one time and broke a glass basket that my sister gave me non replaceable. I put it on the shelve so the children wouldnt brake it LOL

Glad you found another on Ebay, but shoot, that one just broke right in half, I would have just glued it back at the seam.

Yes ebay has about anything you would ever want!  I love shopping there!  I have never had any negative things happen as a shopper there but my inlaws did twice now!  They were both very expensive items and they got their money back both times...this last one actually went to court...save all your emails between you and them...that's what saved them!

Sorry about the break ... but it's great that you were able to replace it!

Good idea!  I think I'll look for the Christmas Oreo Cookie tins that I'm missing.

Sorry you lost a plate, but glad you can get it back.  I don't get to fly with the fly lady on the daily tasks.  Thus I have underlying build up, spider webs, etc.  LOL

Isn't that something, there have been times where I managed to recapture part of my childhood on Ebay. A certain doll or book. I had a breakin years ago and the thief stole all my jewelry, including pieces my late Grandfather had given me that he had purchased in Greece. I just recently found an exact duplicate bracelet on Ebay and that was my Christmas present to myself...I feel like I recaptured a bit of myself.....I don't comment too often but I like your journal too....love, Sandi
