AOL, what have you done to me?

I don't even have AOL software on this computer.  I access all things AOL, including mail, through Firefox.  As of about fifteen minutes ago, I can't get on my AOL home page.  I can't get to my AOL mail.

Thank the good Lord I can get to my AOL journal to complain!

I even tried it on Internet Explorer with no luck.  Typing in AOL.com gets a strange page I've never seen before, and when I click on any of the links there, I get this message:  "
An error occurred while trying to get the page."

Leave it to AOL to keep me on my toes.  I may have to get on the laptop in order to access AOL through their software.

Added later:  OK, they seem to have that particular glitch fixed.  Everything is (almost) back to normal.

AOL has been having a bad week.  Double journal entries, no comments saving, blank white home pages.

I'm thinking they've fired all the people who finally figured out how to keep this massive mess of software up and running and now the new folks are breaking themselves in.

It's exhausting.

It must be just AOL where you are. Ken doesn't have aol on his computer either but I used his and aol came up fine on explorer. Maybe it will sort itself out today. Helen

I usually restart my computer and then everything works again.  I don't know if that is really what does it or not, but it works.  'On Ya' - ma

Their software is weird. I tried to access it from Randy's computer once, and I could not get into my mail at all. Good luck!

Since I'm not computer savvy, I just go away hoping that when I come back AOL will be acting right.

They have been doing some "updates." That always means trouble for us! I have had trouble off and on too for the last couple of weeks. Grrr!

LOL....Good ol' A O ( hel ) L  !!  SIL Steve rags on me all the time about AOL. He's the computer guru tech. in our family.

Years ago he had it on their computers...he was just learning the technology back then (circa 1992-93). At that time AOL was 'The Thing' to use etc. But after many 'glitches' and working with other alternative  programs etc., he found that AOL software was full of all kinds of 'trash' and 'debris' that loads up your computer and slows the 'processing'.....as he has tried to explain it to me on occasion...LOL.

I just smile alot and blink my eyes in wonderment.....and keep on using AOL. He shakes his head and keeps on servicing our computers throughout the year with upgrades and lets his ol' MIL go on down the raod in her computer illiterate 'fog !! ROFL !!

However, now that we're on broadband alot of the problems we had have resolved themselves. But, from time to time pages won't open or the program is super slow. I just say DST! (Dumb Stupid Thing) and try and wait it out.

Hang in there Donna....this too, shall pass.  LOL

I was having a lot of AOL problems this weekend too.  Seems like things were loading slow and stuff like that.  Hugs,

I'm laughing at my daughters smart mouth.  Laughing probably won't help curb the behavior, but that was funny!

Good to hear that is fixed!  I hate not being able to get my mail.  I haven't had any problems so far but I hear  others have been having all sorts of problems!
