Out and about on Christmas Eve

We went to Wal-Mart this morning.  Not the evil Blue Springs Wal-Mart; oh no.  We chose not to go in the direction of the big city, instead crossing the Missouri River and heading north to Richmond.

Surprisingly, there were many open spaces in the parking lot.  By the time we left, though, traffic was streaming in.  Apparently, we just happened to beat the crowd.

Valentines?  Hey, it's just now Christmas Eve!

Here's a little Christmas story for you:  The man above needed to put that huge package (one of those battery-operated kiddie jeeps) into a small trunk; he was obviously in trouble.  Enter that passing white-haired lady, who happened to be driving an SUV.  It was obvious that she was offering to take this stranger's package to his house for him.

As I was sitting in the parking lot of Pizza Hut (don't ask), I saw this pathetic flag hanging in front of the Lexington Fire Department.  It made me sad to think that anyone would leave such a tattered remnant of a flag hanging like that.  Pathetic.

You are a brave soul to venture our on Christmas Eve.  I do hope that big package made it home safely.  How cute.  I've seen so many of those tattered flags.  I does make one wonder if they don't ever check.  I know they aren't that expensive to replace.  Hopefully their New Years budget will allow for a new one.  Happy Christmas to you and Cliff !  'On Ya' - ma

I'm glad you and Cliff beat the rush at that Walmart.  Sounds like you chose the right one to go to.  That was really nice to see the Lady offering to help the man with the kiddie car.  I hope you and family are enjoying a very Merry Christmas Day today.

You are right - no fire department should hang a flag like that! They should be ashamed!

Merry Christmas to you!

Looks like a good deed happened at Walmart yesterday.  That flag is very pathetic, they should be ashamed!  Linda

That is nice to see a stranger offering to help!  You don't see that much anymore (at least in my neck of the woods)!

I had to make a mad dash to Walmart-once on the 23rd and again on the 24th for things I forgot.  We have 5 in our town and I was hoping that it wouldn't be so packed-but it was.  I still managed to make my rounds without too much hassle and even found a check out lane that was open with no wait!

I hope you have a great weekend-Jeff

Valentines???LOL...boy they are rushing our lives away for us arent they. That sure was nice of the lady to help that man out. I am surprised that that flag is tattered like that, especially at a fire department. Maybe they will have it replaced very soon.
