Gifts

I just read a great post by Heidi the Hick giving her thoughts on Christmas gifts.  As a person who got off the gift-giving merry-go-round some time back, I applaud her.

Click HERE to see what she has to say.  This is a lady who doesn't want her children to grow up thinking that love is shown by how much "stuff" they receive for Christmas.

When I first clicked, I thought the title of your entry was 'grits'.  I guess you know where my mind is....LOL

I for one, love giving gifts.  My children know what is important.  After many lean years when their Dad died it was often homemade gifts and they were from the heart.  Now maybe I can afford a little more, but truly the important part of our celebration is being together.  'On Ya' - ma

I think everyone is entitled to their own opinion.  Me, I'd much rather have something that someone made for me than to have an expensive gift.  That just means more to me than any price tag.

I know that this year, my girls will get 1-2 gifts each, plus stockings.  Everyone else can settle for a hug.  ((((Mom))))  See?  You got your gift early!
