A poem to describe the month

I first discovered this poem in the pages of "The Book Of Knowledge" as a child, and was amazed even then at how well it described my feelings about November.

                               NOVEMBER

No sun--no moon!
No morn--no noon!
No dawn--no dusk--no proper time of day--
No sky--no earthly view--
No distance looking blue--
No road--no street--no "t'other side this way"--
No end to any Row--
No indications where the Crescents go--
No top to any steeple--
No recognitions of familiar people--
No courtesies for showing 'em--
No knowing 'em!
No traveling at all--no locomotion--
No inkling of the way--no notion--
"No go" by land or ocean--
No mail--no post--
No news from any foreign coast--
No Park, no Ring, no afternoon gentility--
No company--no nobility--
No warmth, no cheerfulness, no healthful ease,
No comfortable feel in any member--
No shade, no shine, no butterflies, no bees,
No fruits, no flowers, no leaves, no birds--
November!

Yes, there is a lot of No's to November for sure, but there is a YES too.  We all remember the wonderful blessings of the year and give THANKS.  I'm so looking forward to our Family Feast and having my babes together once more.

Yes, that poem does a good job of describing what I feel about November also. I guess there is a season for everything. I am trying to embrace the coming winter, but it is hard. It is coming either way, so I might as well try to make the best of it.

Most people here in MI hate November. I hate February. It's so close to finally getting out of the worst of winter, but somehow it has 200 days in it! Nice poem :)
