This promises to be an interesting, busy, and fun weekend. There WILL be pictures. There WILL be some motorcycle riding (Good Lord willing, of course). I'm not sure if I will be updating this evening, but stay tuned.
Yesterday I took two Vicodins and headed into the sunset on Blue (OK, OK, it was 3 P.M., but by the time I got back it was sunset!). Poor boy, I'll bet he's going to be glad when those pills are gone. I went to visit Bud, the husband of the lady we recently visited in the rest home. Yep, Blue carried me over fields and gravel roads for more than five miles one way, and I talked to our old friend for awhile. When I got home, the two oldest grandchildren were waiting and worrying; I'd been gone so long, they thought maybe something had happened to me. I reminded them that I do carry a cell phone with me when I ride, so there's no need in worrying; just call! Which my daughter did at one point in my ride, and I fumbled the phone and dropped it on the road. As luck would have it, there were some pretty tall banks on each side of the road there, which gave me a boost getting back on Blue.
Today I'm thankful for these autumn days, which are absolutely perfect here in Missouri. And I'm doubly thankful for a horse who carries me gently and safely across the miles without protest.

Thats great that you and Blue get to travel around. Linda
Those are strange clouds! Glad you can get out and ride Ole' Blue! Linda
Those were some interesting clouds. I know you enjoyed your ride. I would be so sore from riding. Have fun this weekend..I'll be looking forward to your pictures.
Hollie
Those are really strange clouds, some have a tornado look. Glad that you had a good ride on blue. I myself don't see why you don't ask the Dr about getting more pain meds for that knee as long as you are careful about taking them. Just taking as needed shouldn't make a junkie out of you. Enjoy your weekend and good motor cycle riding into the wide blue yonder. Looking forward to seeing your pictures. Helen
Have another beautiful fall day ! 'On Ya' - ma
Sounds just wonderful! I'm happy for you and Blue. Enjoy the weekend, as well!
That's a lot of riding, I guess you don''t get sore. The sky looks like it's brewing, Don't know how to respond at Just me but I wanted you to know how touching that post was, well written. Vicki
I hope you and Cliff have a nice weekend. It sounds like the two of you always have fun together. Enjoy your day.
Hugs,
Pat
I hope you enjoy your weekend. And hey...if the pain meds help you....refill them!
Pam
So glad you got some time with Blue and lovely weather!! Hope you have a great weekend and be careful on the rides with the cycles. Hugs,
Lisa
Donna, I enjoyed your ride on Blue. Now, I have a suggestion that might give you a leg up into the saddle. How about a third stirrup hanging from the pommel that extend down to about a foot off the ground to place your right foot into. then, place your left foot into the regular stirrup and swing the right one over. Ok, so it might take some practice but I'm betting it work for you. because, I saw this same thing used in a circus by a midget horseman. He simply used the Third stirrup as a stair step. Once seated in the saddle he placed it in his saddle bag. ...........gfp aka Alias
You make riding a horse sound like the best thing in the world, Donna. Especially when you are taking your Vicodin! lol J/K.. Although I'm sure that helps with the pain!
Hugs

I hope you're having a wonderful weekend!

I was never prescribed Vicodin, but I do remember Oxycontin pretty fondly...I probably would have tried to a horse to the moon on that stuff!
Russ
Those clouds make me think of a tornado, not that I have seen one in person. Glad your ride was nice. Paula
Pretty sky pictures!
