The highlight of our motorcycle trip Saturday was the historic Katy Depot in Sedalia. Cliff and I enjoy
museums of any sort. We got a bit of a bonus, because there was a
fellow showing a display of old bicycles that he had restored to
like-new condition. Cliff saw a couple of them that reminded him of the bikes of his youth. I never owned a
bicycle as a kid, but I had fun listening to Cliff reminisce about how
he used to clip playing cards onto his bike so that when the wheel
turned, it would sound vaguely like a motor.
I've been through Sedalia many times, since it's on the way to Cliff's relatives and the Lake of the Ozarks. I've spent lots of fun times at the Missouri State Fair in that town. But Cliff and I had never been to the historic part of the city. If I understand the information on the website, that huge church is 159 old. The parish is 163 years old .
The Bothwell Hotel has been in business for eighty years. On my blogger site, I shared pictures of the Bothwell lodge, which we plan to visit again when we have plenty of time to take the tour.

That old bicycle has been ridden many times for the seat to be worn out. I enjoyed the pictures, thanks for sharing. I also went and took a look at the mansion. 31 rooms is a lot of space. Bet they were big rooms too. Helen

These pictures were too cool for words....I especially liked # 11 and # 13. It looks as if the train (?) was painted to match Cliff's shirt.
