Searching for a pretty sunrise

I left the house at 5:30 this morning in total darkness.  Looking to the east, I saw the kind of clouds that usually make for a lovely sunrise; I figured I'd get some pretty pictures.  You just can't predict some things, though.  The sunrise never really materialized into "fantastic".

We're pushing 100 degrees here every day.  The heat is unrelenting:  the dust gets thicker and the grass gets browner.  Seems to be the norm in recent years, a drought every summer.   I'm quite a wimp any more; I have the bedroom A.C. running so I can duck in there and get some relief.

Thank God we have plenty of hay for the horses.  Enough for two winters, actually.

I hope your ride there was cooler than it would have been here.  The pictures are great.

You would have thought those clouds would have made for a prettier sunrise. It is still pretty anyway. It's hot here also. Good thing you all got plenty of rain in the spring to grow some hay before the hot dry weather came in. Helen

Great pictures...we got those sprayers going over the cotton...got soy down the road too. Even at 6 am it is still muggy here. Last night it didnt get below 90 until after 10 pm. Its definitely August isnt it. Got to be the early bird if your gonna do anything outside. Stay cool now...we will make it through this heat.

Frankly, I thought the sunrise was awesome.

All I ever see around here is haze...................

Can you send me some hay?  We are already feeding hay in August.  Nothing is growing.  No rain.  I just paid $5 a bale for grass hay.  :(  I don't want to think about what it will cost us in January.   The only saving grace is that the ponies are small and easy keepers.

I hope you are in that a/c alot.  That kind of heat is not good for any of us.  Lots of people are suffering from the heat all around.  Take care and take advantage of your room with a/c as much as you can.  'On Ya' - ma

I still think the sky pictures are lovely. We're doing the same here with heat. The heat index is unreal. I was just complaining about freezing to death two weeks ago and had winter blankets out wearing sweats to bed. How's that for a change. I prefer the middle myself.
Take care, Chrissie
