More about Cliff's junk

A couple entries down I showed you some of Cliff's collection of junk.  Someone asked, in a comment, why the car hood was there, on top of the tires.

On the rare occasions when it snows here in winter, the car hood makes a big sled to pull behind the tractor.  The tires are also for kids to use as sleds.  And just now, the car hood is keeping some free shingles out of the weather.

The car frame, it turns out, is something else that was left here "just for a little while" by my daughter's old boy friend.  Geesh, we ought to charge him rent!

Have you ever pulled a saucer style sled behind your horse?  Lots of fun!

Just goes to show you, there are many uses for something! Ian hates all my wood I keep in the garage. Sometimes if a piece falls off the side of the wall he will throw it out of the garage onto the patio! Burns me up. He says he doesnt want all that wood in the way. I tell him I might need it for stobs, or to make a pen, or repair a pen, who knows? I always find a use for almost all of it at some time or other.

What I like about all this is.....good ole country know how!  This  and even the need for it is being lost to the majority of the younger generation.  The mind set now is.....if you have a need....head to the store.  I love it that the car hood is protecting some shingles.  No expensive tarp..just something you had on hand.

Interesting!  Of course, you make sure the old tires don't collect water and breed mosquitos.

Glad you found a use for it to keep shingles dry...

I can remember sledding on a car hood when I was a kid!

Well, I've never ridden on or in a car hood before, but I'll bet it'd get going pretty good!  (working backward here Donna.  LOL)

mo. we used to use the hood off a 1950 ford, and it was pulled up the creek road by the same car! it was fun til we hit a big ol pine tree and ended up in the creek. Another fun thing was to pull one another on skis across the pasture with a horse, now that is a wild ride!! Have fun with all the junk, it comes in handy sometimes.
From one pack rat to another, have a good day Cliff and Mo.

I understand junk. After Mel died we hauled off three big loads to salvage. Just might need some of that "stuff" thats why he had it and he did use it at times. Sure miss having someone to "fix" and and everything except the TV. He wouldn't touch that. Oh and the shadow picture is neat. Paula
