Monday Photo Shoot

Here are my photo-shoot instructions for this week from John Scalzi:

Take a picture of something interesting in your yard (or take a picture of some fun happening).
Front yard, back yard, side yards, it's all good. If you live in an apartment or otherwise don't have access to a yard, something at a local park or garden works well (or just take a picture of your windowsill garden).

OK, here's the scoop.  My neighbor Marvin had a flock of chickens a couple of years ago.  One by one, varmints or dogs killed them all, except for one lone rooster, who faithfully crows each morning (I love that sound, by the way).

About a month ago, he started spending his days over here.  I notice he's always in the same vicinity as my calf, Secret.  I assume she's the best company he could find.

Talk about "the odd couple".

If you'd like to join in, be sure and leave the link to your entry over at the comment section of John's Monday Photo Shoot entry.

That is so sweet......we actually had a dog/wolf eating our chickens and killing some goats last year!

Awwww...they must be friends...

I love to hear roosters crow in the morning.  I say roosters because we have soooo many chickens

How cool is that?  A cow and a rooster being friends ... and good company for each other I suppose.

I love this picture - isn't it odd who animals choose as friends. Thanks for sharing!
Have a wonderful 4th of July!

Lucky you!  No rooster calls here.  Wish there was!

A cute odd couple. We hear a rooster here sometime if the weather is just right. I like to hear roosters. Haven't heard the peacock in a while either. Paula
