A night at the cabin

I spent the night in the cabin last night; first time in my life I slept with two dogs.  Annie stays on her side of the bed, but Sadie insists on sleeping on top of my legs, which is fine until I want to turn over.

Sadie has always been somewhat afraid of my campfires, and prefers to stay at the side of, or in back of, the cabin when there's a fire burning.  Annie, I found out, loves to curl up beside a roaring fire.

Until it was too dark to read, I studied the book that came with my Canon digital camera and found out it's pretty versatile.  When I say I always "point-and-shoot", I mean it literally.  Except for the few times when I use the macro setting on closeups of flowers or eyeballs.

I found out I can do black-and-white:

or sepia

I can enhance the blue...

or the green.

And there are lots of other settings I didn't try, yet.  Wow.

What do you want to bet I still go on just pointing and shooting?

I love your pictures. I have noticed some settings similiar to that on mine but have never tried them out. Our whole county is under a no burn thing right now because it is so dry. Not so in your area so keep up the camping. Does Annie stay at you place now? You may have said, if so I missed the entry. Helen

I'm so glad you out to that cabin.  I know it is your special place.  I bet the dogs loved it!  'On Ya' - ma

Point and shoot is just so much easier.  LOL.  I do love the idea of your cabin and so enjoy hearing of your brief outings.

Love the pictures and we are adjusting to new puppies over here... keeping me quite busy with the training!!  One fish, two dogs, one cat, one rabbit... three kids.  Life is never dull.  If only they would let me have a horse in this neighborhood.  There is a farm nearby though that might let me board someday....
Hugs,
Lisa

To go black and white I have to edit on my computer. Sounds like you've got a nice camera there.

Very nice! I have had my new camera for months now and still haven't read the tutorial on CD...now I am curious if mine will do stuff like that, would certainly be very cool! Sounds like a restful peaceful night at the cabin. :)
