The mystery is solved

Remember the swirlie?

Tonight I rode Blue on the river bottoms.  I could actually have ridden him clear to the levee, but it got a little muddy; so we turned around.

It isn't as much fun riding down there now.  In fact, it's downright depressing.

Now that the ground is drying, it's all cracked.

Everything is dead.  It still stinks from rotting vegetation.

But here's the mystery of the swirlie, solved.

There was a drainage pipe causing the swirlie.  Don't you wish it had been something more romantic or dramatic?

I'm glad the water has receded but it too bad it's all devestated like that.  Hopefully new life will spring up there soon.  A drainage pipe -- who would have thought ... 'On Ya' - ma

It does look mighty depressing ... wow.

I do sort of wish the swirlie was more romantic or mysterious ... like a little alien bug or something!

Wow the floods really did a number on things...it does look depressing. Hope things dry out and green up soon.

Well that is interesting to know. I hope you don't sink down anywhere here. Happened to me once. It looked crusty and dry but it wasn't as it appeared and I sunk to my knee. Paula

We saw a Nova once on the things that floods create. It was really interesting--swirlies were one, another were the potholes.

Wow, a ride on the river bottoms.  That sure does make some interesting pictures and I am glad you solved the mystery though it didn't turn out to be anything romantic.  Hope ya have a wonderful holiday and I am so glad alerts are working again, not that I have time to answer all of them but I have fun trying.  LOL.  We passed the horse farm today near our house and I thought of ya!!  We are hoping to take riding lessons one day. Hugs,
