Superbowl

I usually watch the Superbowl off-and-on, just in case something spectacular happens.  And I like the commercials.

I'm no football fan, so I don't know a thing about the players on either team.

But there's a thing I don't understand, and Cliff can't help me out here.  Maybe some of you know more about it than we do.

There's a player whose last name is Muhammad.  Every time his name is mentioned by the announcer, the crowd boos loudly.

I wonder if this man has done or said something to deserve being booed, or if it's just his name and religion that people don't like.

If it's the latter, it's just wrong that the crowd boos him.  This country was founded on freedom of religion.

Please somebody, enlighten me if you can.

Thanks to Robin and her hubby (see the comment below), I now know they weren't booing at the guy.  I'm relieved!

The Super Bowl Game was a good one...how be it a wet one...boy did it rain LOL....and no the fans were not boooing in the mean sense of the word...just the name...a player has to be a real bad character for fans to boo....they are usualy ver civilized...specially in a big game such as this....and my team won...so it was a good evening....but will have to admit...I slept thru the third quarter LOL....Hugs Ora

Fans were saying, "Mu"   Just sounded like they were booing.
I am a Dallas Cowboy fan.  We had a guy on our team nicknamed Moose.  Every time he did something exciting, everyone yelled, "Moose" and people thought he was being booed too.
