Check out the video of Barbaro, the racehorse, walking. His foot and leg look mighty strange, but he appears to be happy, ears up and alert.
You can't keep a good horse down.
(note: You may have to watch a commercial before you see Barbaro, on this clip)

Thanks for the video, does my heart good!
It looks VERY strange. I'm assuming the only reason they have kept him alive is for breeding. Will his leg be able to "stand up" to that? I agree that it is a miracle that they were able to save him but at what cost? His hock doesn't even look right, let alone his messed up fetlock. Thanks for the look at the video.
I figured out my video viewing problem. Popup blocker!

It is so awesome to see this horse walking. We had Standardbred race horses my whole life and it is so great to see how far veterinary medicine has come. We still have a 16 yr. old gelding in our barn. My Mom says "he was born here and will die here". My 5yr. old daughter even gets on his back and rides him around the paddock. He loves her and she loves him, I think they have bonded. Thanks for making my day with this video.

I wasn't able to watch the video for some reason. I do remember when Barbaro got hurt. I'm so glad he's well now. Good for him!

My heart still goes out to this horse. I don't know enough about horses to tell if he is still in pain. The leg sure looks bad enough to be giving pain. Glad he is better though.
Hi Donna,
I saw that on the news yesterday too. Of course I then had to go to the website of the hospital he is being cared for at. Barbaro is such a beautiful animal!
Huggers,
Gayla
Oh I saw him on TV this morning....
