I voted

Yes, I made it to the polls today.  Not because of any politicians running for office, but because of some amendment issues.

I voted for the minimum wage increase.  I've worked for minimum wage before, and nobody should have to work that hard for so little pay.

I voted against raising taxes on cigarettes.  I don't smoke, and I wish nobody did.  But if we are going to tax things that wreck our health, then fat people ought to be taxed too, every time they eat at Mcdonalds.

I agonized over the stem cell amendment, changing my mind several times over the past weeks.  I finally made my decision, after much prayer.  But I will admit that I was relieved to learn that my husband had cancelled out my vote.

As for the crooked politicians running for office, I really don't care who wins.

But.....

I am so thankful to be living in this country.  God bless the USA!!!!

I sent my vote by absentee ballot about 10 days ago before I got too upset with the ad campaigns on TV.  I always vote - partly because it give me the right to complain if its all messed up.  We didn't get a chance to vote on minimum wage.  I would gladly have voted to increase it.  We had a lot of ballot issues to rifle through.  I like you am glad that's over for a while.  blessings, Penny

Having a chuckle here.  I voted because it's my right, my priviledge, my duty.  But there wasn't a whole heck of a lot of choice.  Any referendum that was going to cost me money in the long run?  A nice fat NO check.  Glad this one is over ... on to the next.

You just think it's over. Bet tomorrow we'll start hearing about the next election!!
I kind of voted like you on those issues but no longer have someone to cancel me out.

I did my part and voted. I am so glad its over...If I got one more recorded call reminding me to vote for whomever "the voice" supported I would scream!!! I got so I didn't even answer my phone without screening the call. I agree, I am also thankful to be living in this country.

I on the other hand go and cancel my husbands vote.  I keep the conservatives in check is my viewpoint.  I vote for an extra tax on McDonalds.  It might help slim down our kids.  however the taxes on smoking have not slowed to many people down in our area.  The Indians sell the ciggarettes. I figure that is how they are going to get rid of the rest of us.  Connie7280

Well, Mosie..I, too, voted here in Columbia.

I don't like Republican nor the Democrats. But I hate the Democrats more than the pubs.

Gonna be a long 2 yrs.

If we have a democratic President in 08, I will get to say...he/she is NOT my President! LOL

Great entry!  I like the way you voted.  And amen to the minimum wage increase.  I can't imagine how anyone is living these days without it.
