Sadie at the cabin

My friends and long-time readers might recall that the cabin was originally built for me and Mandy, my previous dog.  She loved it back there, and was a wonderful companion.  Mainly she just kept me company; she was much too dignified for silly games with people.

Mandy's brief life ended when she was struck by a car on the highway, and then Sadie entered the picture.  She loves the cabin as much, or more than, Mandy did.  Last night she heard the rattle of my cabin-bag and started whining at me to hurry up.

One reason she enjoys it so much is that unless we have the misfortune of the neighbor's dog accompanying us back there, she gets to be unleashed for the duration of our stay.  She finds her own stick and brings it for me to throw.  As you can see by the pictures, the one she found last night was more of a tree-limb instead of a stick.  She didn't care, but I had a time throwing it!  She digs at the wood pile for hours; Cliff said he once saw a ground squirrel there, so I assume Sadie gets wind of him.  Anyhow, she is a busy bee trying to dig him out of hiding.

I can't imagine my cabin without a dog at my side.

Those are great pictures. I can see why it would be hard to throw the big stick. She has plenty to keep her intertained with your help. A dog is a lot of company. Thanks for sharing your and Sadie's night. Helen

When I learned you were at the cabin, Donna, the first thing I thought of was..Mandy.  While I'm getting used to Sadie, and I'm so happy that she has found a good home, and that you all love her to pieces.  There will only be one Mandy, and even though I never got the pleasure to pet or play with her.. I still miss her, and seeing pictures of her with you and the girls.

I'm glad you and Sadie had a good time at the cabin!  What is it you are sleeping on, Donna?  It looks hard! lol

Hugs

OK...I'm complaining....Not enough pictures...I was interested to see if anything had changed since the last pictures of the cabin.  Glad Sadie likes it as much as Mandy.  Country fresh night air.....What could be better?

The unconditional love of a dog is hard to surpass.  I love mine, and am thinking he might be my last...I don't know if I could go through puppy training again. Maybe when  I finally retire...meanwhile this one has still got a lot of years left and is my constant companion when I'm home.  'On Ya' - ma
