What a day!!!!

When Cliff and I took our morning walk, I suggested that if he had a motorcycle ride in mind, we'd best take it early.  The forecast was for terrible heat.

He finally decided we'd ride for just a couple of hours, until it got too hot.

I had a question for his sister, Charlene, and suggested he call her.  He did that, and casually mentioned that we were going for a ride.

She decided to abandon her plan of cleaning house, and asked if we'd come by their house.  They'd ride with us (for a couple of hours).

There's a huge western store south of here that has an unbelievable inventory of boots, so we stopped there.  Cliff and I tried to decide which motorcycle boots we'd buy when we can afford it.  And he bought some gloves with the fingers cut off, just because Pat has some like that, and looks so cool wearing them.

We ended up in Sedalia (the town where my granddaughters and I will spend three days next week at the fair).  Pat needed to replace a light on his motorcycle, so our first stop there was at the Harley dealer.  Harley riders always seem to need some new part or  other.  Then we had to figure out where to eat.

Cliff wanted steak, so Pat asked one of the salesmen at the Harley place if he had any suggestions as to where we could find a good steak.

Little Big Horn Steak House, he said.

Hmmm, I recall what happened at Little Big Horn.  Do we really want to eat there?

We did, and the steak was great!  (Cliff and I split a 14-ounce steak.)

On the way home, we spent some time at the Baltimore Bend vineyard and winery, browsing through all their T-shirts and novelties.  Then we headed home.  We knew it was hot, but were surprised to see that the sign on the B&L Bank at Lexington read 101 degrees.

Arriving home, I heated up the left-over turkey frame soup while we planned a couple of  adventures for this fall.

It's fun being a sixty-two-year-old kid.

By the way... that "couple of  hours" turned into six.  Oh well.

Great pictures. I believe that was a cotton field on the left in the picture of the water tank? Good for Cliff getting new gloves. Glad you had a good day. Helen
