According to my mom's notes on the back of this picture, it was taken in 1920. Which means that's her dad, a grandfather I never knew, at the wheel. Imagine six people heading to South Dakota in that little thing, in 1920. Unbelievable!
I'm so glad I have a cousin who is documenting all these things.

Way cool! I love the pic. but I wouldn't trade places with those folks heading to SD. I'd go make the most of pre-prohibition. Maybe wear a flapper outfit. LOL\

What a wonderful picture. History, especially of our own family , is so interesting. I have a family tree on my mom's side that goes back to the 1700's in Virginia. Someone in the family actually put it on line. My mom came from West Virginia, but at one time it was all just one state - Virginia. She had a great memory for the past and would tell us many stories. I wish you cousin good luck ! It does take a lot of time . 'On Ya' - ma
"HORSE-CRAZY" is contagious ... really hard to cure.
I was horse-crazy as a child (doodles of horses on each school paper I handed in) ... luckily, had some horses ... grew up to have a career in horses.
I like to think that my love for horses influenced the many others of my relatives: siblings & their kids, cousins ... then, also ... the young people who surrounded me. Many of them have a continuing interest in horses, some professional.
NO DOUBT THERE ARE MANY PEOPLE THAT YOU ARE LIKEWISE INFECTING WITH "HORSE-CRAZY".

I love the picture. I can remember my grandpa's model-T. He had to crank it to start it and it had a side box where he kept the candy he brought to us. I'm glad you are getting the much needed rain. Paula

I think there's nothing better to leave behind for your heirs than records of the family past. The written word.
