Great news about AOL

Check out this entry made by John Scalzi.  Or, just go directly here

I'll save $10 a month from this change, so of course I'm happy about it.  My journal was the only thing keeping me on AOL, and I figured a day would come when I'd decide it wasn't worth it.  I simply had not worked up the nerve, as yet, to bid farewell to more than two years of pictures and words that assist me in walking down memory lane whenever I wish.

AOL hopes to make a profit from their advertising now, and I'm already used to the ads.

Barring any unforseen problems, I'll stick around.

I have been off of aol for many months and found out I could still access my journal through aim.  The only thing I didn't have access to was FTP space which I didn't know how to use anyway!  I have two identical journals ~ one on aol and one on blogger.  I create the entry in aol's and then copy and paste it into the blogger journal.  No need to give anything up!

I heard about this on the news and read it in the paper about three weeks ago then I went to AOL live help and that person said they didn't know anything about it and just beacuse I read it in the paper didn't mean it was true. We shall see. I hope it is. Helen

I'm with you Mosie..   I doesn't always love everything about AOL, but it's been my home for the last 12 years.  I don't like change much, so I can't see myself leaving for another provider.  AOL is one of the easiest places to get around.  Besides I love Jland.  Can't see myself saying goodbye here..
