a conversation between Cliff and a granddaughter

So, Amber, our almost 19-year-old granddaughter, was here last weekend, and spent a night with us.  It was hot, so we told her to make a pallet in the floor of our bedroom, which is air-conditioned; she gladly complied.

The next day, she and her grandpa had a conversation about  love, living, and the facts of life:

Amber:  "I want to find a husband that's just like you, Grandpa."

Cliff, smiling with pride:  "Oh, really?"

Amber:  "Yeah; I want a man who will let me stay home while he goes to work."

Cliff's ego quickly deflated.

Sorry his ego was deflated; I think it is awesome that you have been able to stay at home and that Cliff has been able to take care of you. He should be patted on the back for his dedication to you and for putting your needs in front of his. Hats off to Cliff and you tell him to stand proud; that it is a good thing to provide for his family. Well done good and faithful servant I'm sure the Lord would say

I can't see why Cliff's ego would get deflated!  Puff out that chest Cliff!.. the days have gone where a man can really take care of his wife in such a way!!

My daughter once said "I want to be just like Grandma".  When I questioned how, she replied "HEALTHY".   It's just wonderful that a 19-year-old will take the time to really talk to grandparents.
