Cliff started cardiac therapy today

Cliff's only going to therapy for a month, just to be safe.  We want to make sure he doesn't over-do it with exercise here at home.  There are classes for us to attend teaching us how to get rid of salt and cholesterol in our diets, how to read labels, and so forth.  The nurse said they'll hook him up and monitor his heart while he exercises, at some point.

Since Cliff has already worked up to walking a mile and a half a day on the local track, what he did today was child's play.

I had a lovely Mother's Day, by the way.  Cliff and I went to Church with his sister and her husband, then they surprised us by serving a heart-healthy dinner at their house.  Arick came out and put the finishing touches on the shop add-on that everyone worked so hard on Saturday.

Cliff is a happy camper!  Now if we can just get his hay mowed, baled and put up without incident, things will be perfect.

Good pictures!  I think it's great that Cliff has the oportunity to start his excercise program under the supervison of an expert.  That was really nice of his sister to make a heart healthy dinner for y'all to enjoy on Mother's Day.

Cliff's walking the TSC isles is as savoring outside junk...err... furturely needed stuff. His mind in a whirl, he catalogued a lot of "Where did I see that?" useful information. Humpht.

Physical therapy is hard work!  Great going Clifff.  Oh and the joys of going shopping with men.     I swear Rick could look at the same screwdriver section for hours and never get bored.  I ask the all important question...where you going? Home Depot?  I think I need to pluck my eyebrows or iron the curtains anything to keep from going to the yawn store!  LOL Barbara

Last year I worked in a small Cardiac Rehabilitation department in our local hospital.  It was such a fun job. The people would come 3 times/week and it got to be almost like a social club with treadmills.  They made fast friends while exercising and recouperating.  They'd share their various stories of surgery, recovery...etc.  It became not just Cardiac Rehab, but also mental therapy for the patients as well.  They realized through being around others with the same issues that they aren't alone, and what they are experiencing (certain fears after surgery), that everyone else experiences the same fears.  When someone would "Graduate" we hated to see them go.  Some would actually try to get me to make a recommendation that they stay longer, LOL!  Sometimes I could, sometimes I couldn't.  I hope Cliff finds this to be a very rewarding experience and I'm sure he will do really well there.
Let us know how he is doing.........Pamela
