Rest in peace, Pam

I'm sorry to have to say that I'll be removing one of my favorite journals from the side bar before long.  Pam (Hiz1desire), the bravest woman in J-Land, has passed on.

Pam fought so valiantly to keep her spirits up.  She last posted to her journal April 7.  I won't remove the link from the side bar as long as her journal is there, because it's a testimony to a fighter.

Some of her readers will someday have to walk the same lonesome valley as Pam, and we'll remember how well she fought the fight.  And we'll fight too.

And perhaps we'll win because she taught us how to fight to the end.

Here's the message I received in e-mail from Pam's sister:

My sister Pam passed away today.

I don't have other information, as to exactly when, or anything else,
her ex husband called my sister Susie about an hour ago to let her know.

She is at peace now, she's not in pain, she doesn't hurt. We who loved
her are the ones who are suffering now, and i know that my life is
better for having had her in it, so the pain even can be appreciated,
That I hurt because she was my sister, and I got to love her, and be
loved by her.

She told me a couple years ago, that all she wanted out of life, was
to touch one person, and make a difference in someone's life. Then she
would know that she was a success. The last time that she and I had a
long conversation was about 2 weeks ago. And she KNEW that she was a
success. That she has touched so many people, made a difference in so
many people's lives. She knew the end was very near, and she was
scared, but she knew that she had accomplished what she had set out
for herself as her life's goal. How many of us can say that?

Hug your sisters, your friends, your loved ones. Tell them what they
mean to you, and how they've touched your life. Let them know while
you can. Life is so short.

Thank you all for your words, and prayers. Knowing that there are
people all around the world who are grieving for her as we are is a
great comfort to us.

Thank you all

Nancy, Betty & Keith

Pam's was the first journal I came across last year, and she inspired me to start my own.   I've kept up with her ever since...praying for her and hoping....   I'm deeply saddened by this news.  She was one witty, brave, wonderful person, and she'll be missed in JLand.

I am so sad to read this news.  I read her often but didn't comment often ... she was not only the bravest woman in J-land, she was the most inspiring to me.  Her smiles in her pictures regardless of her health always show(ed) her inner beauty.  She will be missed by oh-so-many, but she will not be forgotten.

This entry makes me feel so sad. I took a look at her journal and she seemed to be a very sweet lady. Very brave. Cancer is such a bad thing to have. I lost my Mother to cancer. I will be in prayer for her family. Helen

THis is a very sad day... Pam will be so missed. I just got that update from the yahoo group in my e-mail, quickly followed by the alert for this entry. She was a very brave woman. She fought with bravery, humour, and a tenacious will.

So very sad and what a beautiful testament to her by her sister. I didn't know Pam but I do remember briefly meeting her in 2003 when I began my journal. She seemed like such a lovely person. God rest her beautiful soul and give her family some peace.

My heart is just broken, but at the same time, I know that she is at peace.  No more pain, and suffering, no more fear.  She fought the good fight, and showed us all what a hero really is..

I will miss her so much..  Her optimism always made me see how trivial my own problems were..

I did not read her journal but I know a lot of folks did b/c I saw her journal connected to their own.  I know she was well thought of in J-land. Thanks for posting this.  I will say a prayer for the family and for peace.

I loved Pam for her courage and her always positive look on life...I read every entry in her journal...I had wondered why she had not written.....Mosie, I tried to leave a comment on her last journal entry, and it would nt let me...there were over 160 comments already...but it may have been closed or something...
I pray that God comforts her children...Her son was so sweet to come and stay with her and help her til the end...I hope they have good support through thier family and church.
