A quick update

Cliff had a couple of spells of his heart racing yesterday and again this morning, which seems to be only a bump in the road.  Doctor says the arrhythmia is a temporary thing caused by the surgery, and will be watched for six months, just in case.  Cliff may come home in the morning.

I'm spending tonight on my cot in Cliff's hospital room again, because he is so much more calm and relaxed when I'm there.  I can't say enough good about Cliff's nurses, especially the day nurses.  Just when I think he has the perfect one, along comes one that's just a notch better.  God bless caring nurses.

LOL - I loved all the nurses I got when I was in the hospital too.  Of course, they always came in with painkillers, so what's not to love....hee hee...  One of them said 'I like to keep my patients calm and happy, and if I have to bring in morphine every time, well so be it.'  LOL

Give Cliff a howdy from me...and have Rachel give YOU a hug from me...  :)

It sounds as though Cliff is doing really well. Just reading your entry reminds me of the time my Mom had her heart attack and my Dad stayed by her side almost constantly. I really think it helped in both my Moms recovery and my Dads sanity!Continued prayers for Cliff and your family.

It appears that Cliff is doing really well and you, yourself, sound pretty good!  I know the rest on the cot is not so comfortable, but being next to the man you love, that is and it's so good you are able to be there!

Blessings and continues prayers your way.

I'm SO HAPPY that Cliff is doing so good!!  He's a very strong man!!  And God bless you for being so attentive to him and staying right by his side.  You are very devoted and he knows that.  He's a lucky man to have you.  I just am so thankful that they were able to catch this problem and fix it before he'd had a massive heart attack. God is watching....believe me!!
Stay safe and let us know when he's released home!!!
Love to you both.

I had a "chest buddy" made of a cotton bath blanket folded into itself to form a padded envelope that I used to allow me to hold my chest during coughing, laughing and the like for the first month to six weeks of allowing the chest wall muscles to heal.

My wife thought it unsightly, so bought me a pillow, but frankly, the thin, padded nature of the blanket pad was far better suited to the job. The pillow got to adorn the back of the sofa; the "buddy" traveled with me.

Tell Cliff to hang in there. I'm glad the stumbles towards discharge are so minor.

I'm glad you are able to sleep there with him, Donna.. and keep him calm and reassurred.  He will probably have a few little bumps as he gets better, but all in all, he is really doing well!!
