an "expert" opinion on Sadie

There's a local "horse expert" in my town who has no computer skills, nor does his wife.  So if he wants a photo of one of his show horses scanned, emailed, or printed, he comes here.  I really don't mind, except he's so demanding.  "Please" would be a nice word for him to use, but it isn't in his vocabulary.

He shouts orders that start with, "I want it this way", and then he acts angry if the photo doesn't turn out to suit him, and that rubs me the wrong way.  So far, though, I've accommodated him (much to my daughter's chagrin).

Last weekend he had me scan a couple of pictures.  He wasn't pleased with the results, but I more or less told him, "What you see is what you get."

Somehow those got lost in the mail, and were never received by the intended recipient.

Guess who showed up at my door tonight with the same pictures to scan again.

I ran out of color ink, thanks to him.  And replaced the cartridge.  And we finally got his pictures scanned and printed again.

While he was here, though, he fell in love with Sadie.  "I like her lots better than the one that got killed," he said.

Don't even ASK me what I thought about that; how would you like it if you'd had a child die, then had a new baby, and somebody said, "Oh, I like this one MUCH better".

I have to say that Sadie was on her best behavior.  She sat when I said "sit", and she laid down when I said "Down".  She stood nicely while I demonstrated to this man how her halti works.

He approves of her.

Pardon me while I roll my eyes.  And ask me if I need HIS approval.

A little money for some new color ink cartidges would be nice, though.

Next time tell him you are out when he wants it...and then tell him he can do it at Walmart himself at the photo center!

yes those ink cartridges are almost as much as a printer can cost on sale

The nerve of some people. He could as least buy you some ink. That stuff is expensive. Bet he would be angry if he caught you gone when he wants something done. Paula

Sorry 'bout that annoyin' neighbor.  We used to have one that would want to come over and check "ticket prices" on the internet while he was at his girlfriends house behind us.  Drove us nuts.  We didn't even know him, and barely knew the girlfriend that lived behind us as we'd only just waved here and there.  He'd ask sometimes to use the computer when it was just Katy and I at home.  I told him sorry, now was not a good time.  He was pushy and said "it won't take long". I said, "no, it really isn't a good time".  He never came back.   But you probably know this neighbor really well, and you don't want to appear rude even though he was appearing to be rude.  That was awful to say about the dog.  Ironically, he might have been trying to make you feel better about having the new dog.  Maybe he thought that would make you feel better, strange as it is. Some folks think backwards.  LOL.

Lord have mercy, Mosie....You have the patience of Job!  I probably would have said something ugly to him and then regretted it...or maybe not. lol I love both your little doggies and I also loved Mandy....I know your heart still aches for her....I will pray for you and ask God to bless you for being so nice to that man!
love,

Yikes this guy  has no manners what so ever.  What an awful thing to say.  And I swear if he didn't appreciate the work I did for him, I would say find someone else to do the pictures.

Some people have never learned manners or if they did I suppose that lesson was for someone else. Actually maybe they think they are doing just fine... sad but I know some that don't think they do wrong when they act that way and he is probably one of those people. Do you have a Walgreens by you that will fill up your used cartridges for half the price... I just learned this from my Grandaughter and she said as long as they aren't dried out they will refill them at a much better price. Sandra

Next time he comes over instead of telling Sadie to sit . Tell her to SIC.  What a jerk! Barbara

I admire you for your tact  and restraint not to belt him one when he said that comment.

Who IS this guy?? And how DARE he talk to you like that!!!  You are a much more patient person than I would be, that's for sure!

Yes, it would be nice for him to offer to pay for the ink you use. It takes time to do those things also. I have had a few people want me to do those kind of things.
I don't mind doing them but no shouting or hollering at me please. Maybe the next time he comes be compeletely out of ink and do not have a refill. Make him go buy you some. It also takes black ink you know to do a photo. Be out of all your inks.
I once has a neighbor that sent her daughter about every week to borrow some eggs and sugar to bake cakes.(3 eggs and 2 cups of sugar) Did I ever get a slice of cake from any of this?  No-mam. This went on for several weeks. I was single and I was living on a fixed income. I finally got fed up with that and one day told her I didn't have any eggs or sugar. That put a stop to the borrowing. Maybe you could just tell him right up front that ink is costly and if he wishes for you to continue to print his pictures he needs to help pay for the cost of the ink.. Sadie is a lady and a polite and sweet one just like her owner. No wonder people love her.

What a rude man ,you have to get tough with these people ,fight fire with fire ,you strike me as being too nice ,...........Jan xx

I guess there's a reason why you didn't toss him out on his ear! Does he help with your horse? Although I help a builder who I work for scan pictures of his antique cars and he can be a bit demanding too. Shame on your "friend" for being so heartless about your dear dog!

I'm not sure I could have kept quiet lol..   It's one thing to ask a favor once..even twice.. but not continually without offering to pay you for your time and effort (not to mention the ink)  I'm SURE the next time he asks I'd simply say that i could scan them but it could be a few weeks before you can print them since you are out of ink and it costs so much. (yes.. FIB)

About the mention of the dogs.. there are A** Holes and then there are PERFECT A** HOLES! of which he is one!

It would have been hard for me to bite my tongue with that man!

I agree with the crowd that says he needs to buy ink.

OH for the love of cake!  What a jerk!  Sorry, Donna, but you are way TOO nice! How dare he make a comment like that about Mandy!!  That just makes me so mad!!

You are just too too sweet.. and it's terrible that he has to be such a mean spirited person!
