Wednesday weight loss report

I've lost one pound this week; Cliff lost two.  In all, I've lost eleven pounds since mid-December, and Cliff has lost fourteen; of course, he has lots more to lose than I do.  A nurse took our blood pressure yesterday:  his was 130/82.  Mine was 130/68.  His total cholesterol is 177; mine is 213.  Oops.  Ruth, the nurse, said they like it to be under 180.

I was a little disappointed at another one-pound loss, until I realized that if I keep up at that rate, I'll be at my goal by my birthday in July.  That isn't so bad.

We are still walking, but instead of the little track at the local park, we're walking for a half-hour in our pasture.  It's hard on our heels (bone spurs), but we get lots better exercise.  We go up and down some huge hills that way; the track at the park is level, and really not a challenge.  The hills have done wonders for my lung capacity, and the scenery is much better.  Not to mention that the dog (or dogs) can accompany us.  Because the ground is snow-covered today, though, we'll do the track.

I'm back in the jeans I "outgrew" last fall, and that's a good feeling.  Cliff's back into some clothes that "the dryer had shrunk" (his excuse) too.  So, we are making progress!

that is great that you've lost that much weight in about a month's time! Fantastic. And they do say if you take it off slow, it will remain off and that's what matters.

With continued diet and exercise, that cholesterol of yours should get down to their goal.

WTG and keep up the good work :)

Recently i learned that men lost weight faster then woman.. it has to do with 'muscle weight".. so don't fret that you aren't loosing as fast as Cliff.  The only time in my enitre life i lost weight was after I had a baby! LOL..

Wonderful!  Now get that cholesterol down.  I think it is great that you are exercising together,  my husband is a skinny one so this would not work for me, but I love the fact that you are walking in the pasture and getting to enjoy Gods' beauty instead of a boring old track.  Keep it up!!!! I am proud of you. Barbara

Your entry made me laugh.  My husband always says, "it's not me growing, the dryer is shrinking everything"  LOL  The poor dryer, gets blamed for everything.

Hoo-ray for  you both!  I have too many of those dryer shrunken clothes !  What an inspiration for me you are.  As soon as we get some longer days, I am going walking after work.  Not now, not in the dark , but soon!  'On Ya' - ma

Good for both of you. My husband had a stroke at age 45 so we started walking for 45 minutes every night no matter how cold or hot. I never lost a pound but i know it was good for us. Always heard taking it off slow is the best way. Paula

Yeaah!  Go YOU!  That's great!  Sometimes the slower we lose weight, the more likely it is to stay OFF!
