So, if you google Dr. Martin Luther King.....

If you Google Martin Luther King, Jr., some of the things that come up are not so nice.  And perhaps they are true, I really don't know.

In this day and age, we know too much, sometimes, about public figures.

I choose to salute the good things Martin did, and the positive changes he made.  That's what I'll pass on to my grandchildren.

The same goes for Richard Nixon.

And John F. Kennedy.

And my favorite Christian politician, Jimmy Carter.

And even Abraham Lincoln.  (yes folks, if you Google far enough on Lincoln, you'll find some skeletons in his closet.)

The Bible says, "By their fruits ye shall know them."  Matthew 7:20

I choose to take that route.

Thank You, Jesus.

I haven't googled him, but I have always heard stories.  I worked with a  man who was very dedicated to the movement when it was very hard for a white man in the south to make that committment.  He participated in the Selma to Montgomery march with Dr. King.  He dropped out half way thru because of unsavory activities which he witnessed.

Guess there are not too many people who are lily white. Abraham Lincoln was always my favorite. Maybe I'll look him up when I have some spare time to read. paula

Hello~
I stumbled on your journal from Sonya (My Southern Home) and I just love it so much!

It's fair to say that Google has so many different things to offer and not just for searching. But I 100% agree with you that when you google a great name like Jimmy Carter (who I also adore and always have-he is a great man) Google doesn't always say such nice things about him or other's like Martin Luther King. That's just sad for Google with having such a diverse and wonderful tool. Have you downloaded or tried Google Earth yet? It's really great!

I will most definitely be back to you journal, if that is ok? You really have something special here.

Take care and big hugs to you,
Gayla
