Back in this entry, I more or less said I was doing OK with my New Year's goals, the ones I listed here. I failed to mention three of my "goals".
1. The Flylady thing. Well, at least my sink is clean at night. And my bathroom gets swished and swiped every morning. Otherwise, I'm limping along, a rather crippled, pathetic flybaby.
2. Enjoy every day. I'm certainly enjoying life every day, but I believe I could do better.
3. Write a poem a day. So far, I've written a poem for every day of this year. Some are pretty lame. Some are short. Here's today's poem, as an example.

Donna Wood
The snow is falling gently down.
My house is a cocoon.
The earth is white instead of brown
This peaceful afternoon.
Folk music settles on my ears
And makes my soul serene.
And calms, for now, my doubts and fears,
Sweet respite from routine.

She's a poet, and doesn't even know it! Well done. Good luck on ALL your resolutions. rich
The poem is beautiful ! How gifted you are to be able to write something so touching. I'm behind you in the 'fly lady' about every other day my sink is shiny and the bath gets swished. Good for you ! 'On Ya' - ma
I love the beautiful, gentle poem.
love, love, love the poem. Certainly understand the respite from routine. Flying low flybaby too. After all we aren't perfect and can't expect to do it all (not at once anyway)
I love a poem that is precise and too the point. Not so deep that you have to struggle to figure out what it means. Your poem got right to the heart of the matter, and was quite beautiful.. I have always like poetry that rhymes. Don't care much for those haiku' ones.

We only got a light dusting of snow here in the 'burbs, but it looks nice. And your poem makes me want to take a very long nap -- that's a compliment!! Seriously. Very soothing.

Russ
