As you can probably guess by my "happy" mood, we both did great for our first week: I lost 8 pounds, Cliff lost 8 1/2.
Cliff's blood pressure is 9 points lower on the top number and 8 points lower on the bottom.
We've kept up with our half-hour walk five days a week, and we can both tell the calves of our legs have firmed up a lot. And, we don't get short of breath so easily now.
I've been through this enough to know that we won't be showing this big a loss again in one weeks time, because so much of the initial loss is water weight. I'd be happy with two or three pounds a week, and in the past, that's pretty much what I've done. However, we're older now, so I won't expect too much. When I get down to a certain point, I'll tell you what my starting weight was.

holy moley! I've never lost that much in a week even with nearly no eating at all!! It sounds like you will do what you set out to do!! That's great!

PS: Not that I can imagine you actually need to lose weight!
Great! I will wait until after Christmas before I start any diet regimen. Too many temptations of sweets around.
Whoo Hoo Great! Keep it up!!!! Pretty soon you will have to change your name to Skinny Mini!!!!Barbara
WOW I have never in my life lost 8# in one week... you both did GREAT. Wish I lived with you so we could all do it together... keep up the good work. Sandra

That's great. I lost about 15 pounds but it took about three months because I didn't exercise. I just ate 1200 calories a day. Congrats!

WTG for both of your impressive losses! The walking really makes a diference.

Congrats to you and Cliff. Way to go! Helen
Congrats of course on the weight loss. Walking is such a great excerise. I have to have my walkman and back pack to do it though. The back pack helps keep me balanced and my shoulders back the way they should be or I slump over and my back hurts afterwards.
Did you know your picture is up on the journal page? Very cool Mosie!
Dianne :)
Congrats, Mom and Dad! I have lost 1 lb in te past 2 weeks. WoooHoooo! OK, so I'm not trying, but 8 lbs sounds great...I'm a tad jealous. Keep it up.
I've lost quite a bit of weight this year also....it was sparked by all the painkillers I took over the Summer for my neck. By then my stomach had shrunk and now I fill up very fast. My doc has told me that it's not healthy to lose more than 1.5 lb.s a week.

Yeah You!!!!
Go you!! Just the exercise itself is a good thing! :)
