WEEKEND ASSIGNMENT

 When I Grow Up

Weekend Assignment #77: What do you want to be when you grow up?

This can be answered one of two ways: You can answer by saying what you wanted to be when you were a kid, or, you can answer by saying what you still want to be, one day, one way or another. It's up to you.

All I wanted to be, as a child, was an Indian... a native American.  I knew, even then, that it wasn't something you could "become", but that's what I wanted most of all, and I questioned my relatives, hoping to find that there might be a tiny drop if Indian blood somewhere in my veins.

What I'd like to be now?  A writer.

Extra Credit: What did your parents want you to be when you grew up?

Anything I did was fine with Daddy.  I believe Mother wanted me to be a preacher's wife.  Whew, I'm glad that didn't happen!

I believe there is a teeny tiny drop of Indian blood in me...someone in the family once told me.  :)  I will share it with you if you want!!!   You would make a great writer!!!

As a child I wanted to be an Archeologist...like Indian Jones and dig up treasures or old Dinosaur bones.

I think this is the first Weekend Assignment that I have actually been interested in participating in.  I think I will do it.. :)
I know you love those Indians... :)   As for me, I don't have a drop of the red man in me.  I am Irish and English, all the way!  That's about as pale face as you can get! lol

I guess we could all say that at some point, putting our hands to our mouths and making that sound that we saw on t.v.  The tee-pees (i don't know if I spelled that right).  We had one of those when we were in kindergarten.  If you were good you got to sleep in it during "nap time".

OOO!  I felt this way too after studying them in second grade.  We have Sioux somewhere on my mom's side, and Cherokee on my hubbies side. ;)  C.  http://journals.aol.com/gdireneoe/thedailies

Whenever we played cowboys and Indians I wanted to be Roy Rogers, but my last name was Evans, so I had to be Dale Evans because she was a girl, too.  I feel your pain.  Mrs. L
