meet my new grandpuppy

That's Dixie, my grandson, Arick's, new puppy.  I've always been leery of pit bulls, but I had never been around a baby one.  You'd have to have a heart of stone not to love this little girl.  She thinks she's a lap dog.  Mandy is somewhat jealous to see another dog on my lap, but she plays nicely with Dixie.  They run and chase one another, and have loads of fun.

Mandy looks a lot jealous but I guess maybe she is just anxious to play. Looks like you had a fun day today with the dogs, sandra

They usually have to train pit bulls to be fighting dogs... raised in a loving home they are usually very sweet... Oh, and if you want to get away from the 'stigma' of the pit bull name, the traditional name for the breed is Staffordshire Terrier (spelling is probably wrong, but I didn't look it up <g>)

Awwww, what a good pic.  You are enjoying yourself!  I love it.  I love to see folks happy and isn't it great how God provides our pets to bring us the ultimate happiness.  Horses, dogs, cats, whatever.  Now where was the cool air you were sending my way?  I think you forgot to send it our way.  LOL>

I love her name "DIXIE" !  I too have been sort of afraid of pits, but i use to own 2 and they were my babies! They do tend to be very protective though!

Please use caution, hon!  Those pit bulls have a tendency to change into psychos as they age...it's a genetic thing.  They're not allowed here in my county.  Okay so now I'm worried about your grandson being near this ticking time bomb.  Tell him to watch for any sudden signs of aggression.  Okay?

Looks like Mandy is saying "Put her down, Mom.....lemme see her."  I don't know as much about dogs as I do about cats, so I can't say anything except, give her a lot of love and I think it will be returned, twofold.
