little rewards

The little girl that lives next door, the one who rides my horse a couple times a week, came to my back door with these.  I'm touched.

Wasn't that so sweet? I know she loves riding that horse, and you seem to have made a friend too!

I used to stand in the cool grass of a summer evening, with our backyard neighbor, Malcom E. Brown.  Everyone called him Malcom E. Brown, like everyone calls me Andi Klee.  All one word. he had amazing tomato plants, and he's stand out there with a pinch in his gum, a whiskey on ice, and the garden hose. Just watering. He gave me my nickname "andi" (Andrienne) and he'd ask me things. About school, what I thought, what I was doing. I was 6 when I met him.  We'd stand out there in the dusk and he really made me feel like what I said mattered.  Every summer for years, we'd have our little meetings.  He was an educator, the Superintendent of Schools for Cleveland County, where I lived, and he was pumping me for info about my grade, from elementary on up to highschool.  How the kids felt about the teachers, etc...nothing sinister, that man truly loved children, loved me, and I knew it.
I am 39 years old now, and I promise you, that precious little girl will never forget you.  :)

That little girl must love you the way I'm sure almost everybody who knows you does.  That's got to feel good, right?

What a wonderful superise! Like others have said, I sure wish I had a terrific neighbor like yourself when I was growing up. I grew up in Texas but no horses to be seen in my neighborhood! I didn't have a horse of my own until 4 years ago and she was a only 5 1/2 months old....I am finally able to go on trail rides with Gracie- Hooty hoo! What part of the country do you live in? Everyone have a beautiful day! Di

Oh by the way I forgot to say in my last comment - Congratulations on having twins, will the Momma cow have enough milk for both or will it require bottle feeding one of them? Well... I'm off to work and then to the stables to do my barn duties! Have a beautiful day!
