and speaking of birthdays...

My son was born on this day in 1967.  He had colic and cried constantly, and when I was desperate for a break, Cliff would take him for a ride on my dad's garden tractor.  As he grew, we spanked him too much, and too hard.  We had seen so many bratty kids, and were positive ours would NOT act that way.  Poor kid.  One of the things I would go back and change... Jimmy would not have so much expected of him.

There he is at one year old.  I thought (and still think) there was never a more beautiful baby.

I

That's Cliff, Jim, and Cliff's dad holding baby Arick:  four generations.  Jim was just out of boot camp in this photo, I believe.

Where does the time go?

I love you, Jim.

What wonderful pictures. Tell Cliff that I think he was "hot" sitting on that mover. I know what you mean about having a baby with colic. It is hell. I spanked my Kelly too. I think that is just the method of child raising back then. I wish I could take that back too, but I can't. AND, you are right, what happed to the time????  Anne

Bless you for taking responsibility for your own actions and admitting regret at spanking too much.  I wish my own parents had the same level of integrity that you do.

Happy Bday to my big brother!  Hope it was great, and don't worry, you don't look a day over 40.

Well, thank's to a diet, I actually feel better than I have for the last few birthdays. And of course, I just keep getting better looking all the time...so who cares about aging? I wasn't quite done with basic in that last pic, it was the holiday break, Dec. 85. I don't remember that picture being taken, but that would have been the last time it could have been taken, because I went straight to Germany after that and grandpa died while I was over there.

It was a fine birthday here...no complaints at all...Thanks for the b-day wishes!

What a great entry, Mo?  I loved it.  My oldest child, Desiree' turned 50 on Friday, May 6th.  I was a child bride, of course.  Mo, I love your journal more and more every day.  I covet your writing ability.  When are you going to write a book?  Take care and God bless........Sam

Awwwwwwww...so sweet! The baby pictures are great!
I love the one of the four generations too!
We all have so many special memories, thank goodness for pictures that we can look at! I wish I had movies of when my kids were small.

Some parents never admit making mistakes in child-rearing....and the pattern repeats through generations.  I'm so glad you were brave enough to break the cycle!!!    Russ
