John Scalzi's Weekend Assignment

Picture from Hometown

Weekend Assignment #52: Congratulations! Hollywood is making a movie of your life, and you get to choose any actor you want to play you -- yes, even if they're dead (the things they can do with special effects!) Who do you choose and why?

Sissy Spacek will play me; she did great doing Loretta Lynn, so she knows how to properly portray a hillbilly.  My second choice would be Jodi Foster... just because I think she's a superb actress.

Extra credit: Name the musician/band who will play the theme song to the movie.

Sawyer Brown - "Dirt Road"

Daddy worked hard for his dollar
He said some folks don't, but that's o.k.
They won't know which road to follow
Because an easy street might lead you astray

Chorus:
I'll take the dirt road, it's all I know
I've been a'walking it for years
It's gone where I need to go;
It ain't easy, it ain't supposed to be
So I'll take my time
And life won't pass me by
'Cause it's right there to find, on the dirt road

I have lived life in the fast lane
You gotta watch your back and look both ways
When it's said and done the time we have is borrowed
You better make real sure you're headed the right way

I like Sissy, too!  She's a good choice.  Hate to say this, but I've never heard of Sawyer Brown . . .maybe 15 years in Mexico was too long.  Penny

Okay. Okay.  I guess I will allow Sissy Spacek to play you in the "Inner and Outer Demons" movie.  I've loved her in every movie she's been in....although I fell asleep during "JFK".

I agree -- it'd be a complete and utter toss-up between Sissy and Jodie.  Maybe you could incorporate both of them to symbolize different phases/ages of your life?  Or have a mother/daughter scene with BOTH of them?  See how many extra-credit points you coulda racked up if you'd just asked me for help??  :o)~

I still can't believe such an awesome band got its start on Star Search... those old reruns are a hoot!
